Woman dies after being hit by semi-truck along I-5 in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A woman died after being hit by a semi-truck along northbound Interstate 5 Wednesday morning. 

The California Highway Patrol said she was a pedestrian who was hit near the W El Camino Avenue offramp. It happened around 4:20 a.m. in the number three lane. Her identity wasn’t released, but CHP said she was carrying Nevada identification.

The truck driver stayed in the area and cooperated with the investigation. CHP said no drugs or alcohol is suspected to be a factor for the driver. It isn’t known if alcohol or drugs were a factor for the pedestrian.
