MILLBRAE – A 36-year-old woman was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of robbing a Millbrae convenience store and attacking a clerk, according to authorities.

The violent episode happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the 7-Eleven located at 401 El Camino Real, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The suspect entered the convenience store, stole multiple items and left, but she returned moments later and assaulted the clerk with a metal rod, according to the sheriff’s office.

The employee suffered minor injuries.

Deputies searched for the suspect but did not find her. She was later identified as a 36-year-old resident of San Francisco.
