PLEASANTON — A 30-year-old woman who allegedly struck her husband with a car and then later stabbed him inside their home Monday has been charged with multiple felony crimes, according to court records and authorities.

The woman was charged Thursday with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of corporal injury to a relationship partner, according to court records. The charges include an enhancement allegation that the husband suffered great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence.

The woman is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail and is scheduled for arraignment Friday.

According to court records, the woman called Pleasanton police about 12:14 a.m. Monday stating she had stabbed her 33-year-old husband inside their apartment on the 4900 block of Owens Drive, claiming he had tried to beat her.

Officers responded to the apartment and could hear the husband calling for help from inside before the wife let them in. The husband had been stabbed in the back, which authorities said does not support the self-defense claim, the records say.

He remains in a hospital where he was initially listed in critical condition.

Police subsequently learned that before the stabbing a witness saw the couple driving through the apartment parking lot arguing loudly inside the vehicle, the records say. The husband was later seen getting out of the vehicle and starting to walk away and that she drove the Tesla toward him, according to the records.

He could later be heard screaming, and authorities said there is evidence that he was struck with the vehicle before making his way into their apartment where the stabbing happened, according to the records.

The woman declined to give a formal statement to police, the records say.

According to the records, the couple has been married approximately 10 years and have four children.
