Watch: ‘Wicked’ trailer released

The first trailer for the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical “Wicked” was released on Wednesday.Starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba respectively, the movie follows the events prior to “The Wizard of Oz.”The trailer features songs sung by Grande and Erivo that were featured in the Broadway musical that came out in 2003.The musical was based on Gregory Maguire’s novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West,” which was released in 1995. Maguire’s novel was based on the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz.”The movie also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Jeff Goldblum as the wizard.”Wicked” will be released in theaters on Nov. 27, 2024.
