Home surveillance cameras in the San Fernando Valley captured the moment a massive tree came down over two cars, taking down power lines and knocking out power to many residents in the area Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. in the 12600 block of Tiara Street, near Beeman Avenue in Valley Glen.

Crews with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power responded to the area to find the fallen tree blocking much of the street. It took crews several hours before they were able to clear the tree and begin working on restoring power to the area.

It is unclear how much damage the vehicles hit by the tree sustained.

No injuries were reported.

Residents who may see a downed power line are urged to avoid contact, assume that all lines have electricity flowing through them even if they are not sparking and immediately call 911.
