Two people injured, families displaced after semi-truck crashes into Riverbank duplex

Two people are injured and two families are displaced after a collision caused a semi-truck to crash into an occupied home on Friday, according to Riverbank Police Services.The crash happened around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Snedigar Road and Patterson Road. The police department said a 21-year-old woman driving an SUV ran a stop sign and was struck by the semi-truck, which had the right of way with no stop sign. The collision caused the truck to leave the roadway, hit a duplex, and enter a bedroom where a man was sleeping. A power pole and lines were also damaged.Officials said the SUV driver had a broken ankle and broken rib. The 59-year-old man sleeping in the bedroom complained of pain. The truck driver was not injured.A juvenile boy was also in the home at the time of the crash and was not injured.The police department said two families living in the duplex were displaced due to structural damage.
