Suspected DUI driver crashes into school bus in Galt

GALT, Calif. — A school bus driver was taken to a hospital after a collision between an occupied bus and another car in Galt.

One adult, the bus driver, was taken to a hospital for a complaint of back pain, according to the California Highway Patrol, but no students were hurt. 20 children were on the bus.

Galt Police Department said the collision happened just before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of A Street and Oak Avenue.

Police said the students on the bus had already been evacuated by the time they arrived. According to police, some stayed on scene for first aid after complaints of pain before being released to their parents.

CHP said the other driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
