WEST SACRAMENTO, California — A West Sacramento homicide suspected was arrested on April 20.

According to the West Sacramento Police Department, Joseph Baker was seen around 11 a.m. as a passenger in car near an April 3 homicide scene.

Police said tried to do a traffic stop, but the car led them on a chase into Woodland.

Eventually, police used spike strips to slow the car down, and it came to a stop in a motel parking lot.

Baker allegedly got out of the car and ran off with police in pursuit. He was ultimately taken into custody and booked into the county jail.
