Selma Unified employee arrested for ‘inappropriate interactions’ with student, district confirms

SELMA, Calif. (KFSN) — A Selma Unified School District employee has been arrested for alleged “inappropriate interactions” with a student.

The woman was arrested on Wednesday. She has been identified as 26-year-old Selena Perez.

In a statement, the district confirmed that the employee was a campus safety assistant who was removed from the campus by a school resource officer.

Selma Unified officials say they are cooperating with police as the investigation continues.

It is not known if any other students were impacted.

Extra support is being provided for students and families.
