According to police, around 70 cars met in the city at around 9 p.m. and began driving recklessly at several intersections, mainly in the north Sacramento area.
Officers and deputies began their enforcement and by the end of the night had stopped 46 vehicles, issued 36 citations, impounded eight vehicles, made four felony arrests and recovered two firearms.
“We will continue to work with our regional law enforcement partners to conduct maximum enforcement at these illegal events,” the police department wrote in a news release. “We remain committed to a zero-tolerance policy regarding these events and would like to remind the public that participation in sideshow events can result in vehicles being impounded and can lead to fines and penalties up to and including arrest.”
