OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS. SACRAMENTO METRO FIRE RECRUITS ARE GETTING IMPORTANT TRAINING TODAY ON HOW TO BATTLE WILDFIRES. THE RECRUITING CLASS WAS AT MATHER PARK TODAY, AND THEY LEARNED THE BASICS OF WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING, AND THAT INCLUDES HOUSE OPERATIONS, HOW TO BUILD FIRE SHELTERS, SHELTERS AND DIG HANDLINES WHAT WE HAVE UNIQUE HERE TO METRO FIRE. AS FAR AS THE MUNICIPAL DEPARTMENT IS, WE HAVE OUR HELICOPTERS. YOU CAN SEE HERE AND WE HAVE DOZER OPERATIONS AS WELL.
