Resident called police while Hollywood Hills home was being burglarized: LAPD

A high-end Hollywood Hills neighborhood is on edge after a break-in took place overnight while a resident was home.

Preliminary reports from a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson indicate that the burglary took place at a residence in the 1600 block of Marmont Lane just after midnight Monday.

The LAPD spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that the call was made while the burglary was in progress and that the resident advised authorities that three suspects broke glass to enter the home.

Preliminary reports indicate that the burglary took place at a home on Marmont Lane in Hollywood Hills just after midnight Monday, April 8, 2024.

The suspects were described by police as three individuals: one wearing a black shirt, one wearing a blue hoodie and the third wearing all black. They had fled the area by the time responding officers got to the scene, LAPD said.

No injuries were reported and it was not immediately known if anything was taken.

The investigation remains ongoing.
