HOPE FOR A RUN IN THE PLAYOFFS? NOW WE HAVE SOME BREAKING NEWS OUT OF SACRAMENTO COUNTY. CREWS ARE BATTLING A FIRE. IT’S HAPPENED ON OLD PLACERVILLE ROAD. WE WANT TO GET RIGHT TO KCRA 3’S MIKE TESELLE. HE’S ON THE SCENE OF THE FIRE AND JOINS US NOW WITH THE LATEST. MIKE. MIKE, YEAH, AND STILL AN ACTIVE SCENE HERE. I’M GOING TO STEP OUT OF THE WAY TO GIVE YOU A CLEAR VIEW. THIS IS A METRO FIRE TRUCK 65. BEHIND THAT YOU’LL SEE THE LADDER TRUCK DEPLOYED TO THE ROOF OF SPENCER BUILDING MATERIALS. THAT IS THE BUSINESS THEY RESPONDED TO HERE BEFORE 4:00. THEY GOT A CALL OF A SMOKE INVESTIGATION. BY THE TIME THEY GOT HERE, THEY REALIZED THEY HAD A SIGNIFICANT INTERIOR FIRE. SO TAKE A LOOK, BECAUSE THIS IS SOME VIDEO FROM SAC METRO FIRE SHOWING YOU THE WAREHOUSE AREA OF THIS JANITORIAL SERVICES COMPANY. SO A LOT OF CLEANING PRODUCTS AND HAZARDOUS POTENTIAL MATERIALS IN THAT AREA. AND THEY WERE DEALING WITH VERY ACTIVE FIRE THAT BURNED QUICKLY IN THIS AREA. AND THE INTENSE HEAT ACTUALLY DAMAGING SOME OF THE SUPPORT BEAMS. YOU’LL SEE THE BLACK HORIZONTAL LINE GOING ACROSS THE CEILING OF THAT WAREHOUSE AREA. SO THERE IS SOME SAG IN THE ROOF RIGHT NOW. SO METRO FIRE DOES HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF CONCERN OVER THE STRUCTURE STABILITY OF THAT PORTION OF THIS BUILDING. HOWEVER, AS WE COME BACK OUT HERE, LIVE THERE IS NO, UH, EXTERNAL FIRE TO BE SEEN HERE. IT WAS ALL, UH, INTERNAL, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO KNOCK IT DOWN RELATIVELY QUICKLY, ALTHOUGH THEY SAY IT WAS QUITE HOT AND MOVING QUITE QUICKLY INSIDE THAT BUILDING ONCE THIS FIRE FIRST BROKE OUT. SO THE GOOD NEWS HERE IS THAT RIGHT NOW THAT FIRE CONTAINED AND BASICALLY DEALING WITH THE AFTERMATH AND THE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE OF THAT FIRE, AND ALSO THE INVESTIGATION OF WHAT POTENTIALLY STARTED THIS FIRE AT THIS POINT, WAY TOO EARLY TO EVEN SPECULATE AS TO WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THIS FIRE. BUT AGAIN, IF YOU’RE NOT AWARE, SPENCER, UH, BUILDING, UH, UH, MATERIALS, THEY ARE JARRED HILL JANITORIAL SERVICES COMPANY ON THE ONE HALF OF THE BUILDING. THEY HAVE OFFICE SPACE. THIS IS ON THE OTHER HALF THE WAREHOUSE SIDE IS WHERE THEY HAD ALL THAT SUPPLIES AND ALL THOSE SUPPLIES STORED WHERE THIS FIRE BROKE OUT. UH, NO IMPACT TO OLD PLACERVILLE ROAD OR ANY OF THE SURROUNDING ROADS, AS THIS IS ALL PART OF A SHARED COMMERCIAL PARKING LOT WHERE WE’RE STANDING LIVE IN SACRAMENTO COUNTY, MIKE TESELLE KCRA THREE NEWS. MIKE, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THAT LIVE REPORT. WE WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THIS DEVELOPING SITUATION THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. BE SURE TO STAY UPDATED THROUGH THE KCRA THREE APP ON YOUR PHONE.
