Person injured in shooting involving 2 Modesto police officers

MODESTO, Calif — A person was injured in a shooting involving two Modesto police officers Tuesday.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. near Paradise Road and Martin Luther King Drive, according to the Modesto Police Department. 

It’s unclear how the shooting happened. Police said a person was armed during a traffic stop and a firearm was recovered in the area. A person was shot and taken to a hospital in stable condition, the police department said. Neither officer was injured in the shooting.

Traffic near Paradise Road and Martin Luther King Drive will be impacted as officers investigate the shooting.
