Person dies after being pulled from American River in Placer County

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — One person died after being pulled from the American River Sunday afternoon in Placer County.

California State Parks Department, in a statement, said crews responded to a reported water rescue below the Confluence of the American River, in the Auburn area. 

Despite finding the person and providing medical aid, officials said the person ultimately died from their injuries.
