Pedestrian dead following fatal collision in Southern California

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says one person is dead following a crash in Jurupa Valley.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 11:08 a.m. Sunday. Deputies responded to a call for a major traffic collision near the intersection of Jurupa Road and Troth Street.

When first responders arrived, they found a pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene a short time later. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor.
