Man fatally shot in Monrovia neighborhood; gunman sought

Homicide investigators are searching for a suspect who fatally shot a man during a dispute in a Monrovia neighborhood Sunday night.

The shooting was reported in the 700 block of West Duarte Road shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Arriving law enforcement found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

Investigators learned that a group of people were involved in some type of disturbance when one person opened fire, striking the victim in the upper body.

No description of the suspect, who fled after the shooting, was available.
