A man was killed after his car crashed 300 feet down a hillside in El Dorado County on Tuesday, the fire department said.The man’s wife received an alert that the vehicle, a Tesla, had been in an accident and suffered damage that rendered it immobile. The car crashed down an embankment in the area of Highway 50 and Outer Limits Road, according to the fire department. Rescue crews had a difficult time finding the vehicle, but were ultimately able to use coordinates provided by Tesla to find it, officials said.The fire department said the driver, a man in his 40s, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.Officials have not said what led up to the crash.See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app.
