A 57-year-old man faces murder and other charges after his mother was found dead at a Rio Vista home on Monday afternoon, police said. Rio Vista police said officers responded to a welfare check at a home on Birch Ridge Drive at the Trilogy retirement community. The suspect was arrested there after a brief struggle and had minor injuries, police said. No officers were hurt. The man’s 78-year-old mother was then found inside the home.Police did not identify the suspect but said he was booked into the Solano County Jail on murder and other felony charges.
