Man arrested for murder after his mother is found dead at Rio Vista home

A 57-year-old man faces murder and other charges after his mother was found dead at a Rio Vista home on Monday afternoon, police said. Rio Vista police said officers responded to a welfare check at a home on Birch Ridge Drive at the Trilogy retirement community. The suspect was arrested there after a brief struggle and had minor injuries, police said. No officers were hurt. The man’s 78-year-old mother was then found inside the home.Police did not identify the suspect but said he was booked into the Solano County Jail on murder and other felony charges. RIO VISTA, Calif. —

A 57-year-old man faces murder and other charges after his mother was found dead at a Rio Vista home on Monday afternoon, police said.

Rio Vista police said officers responded to a welfare check at a home on Birch Ridge Drive at the Trilogy retirement community.

The suspect was arrested there after a brief struggle and had minor injuries, police said. No officers were hurt.
