LIVE: Parts of I-80 closed in Solano County with CHP in standoff with suspect

Parts of Interstate 80 are shut down in Solano County on Friday afternoon as California Highway Patrol deputies are involved in a standoff with a suspect. CHP chased the suspect’s vehicle on the freeway until it came to a stop in the slow lane of the eastbound side of I-80 near Fairfield.Watch our evening newscasts live here.As of 3:45 p.m., the vehicle was stopped at Green Valley Road close to the Interstate 680 connector. Traffic is being held on both sides of I-80. CHP officers have the vehicle surrounded. According to NBC Bay Area, the pursuit started around 2 p.m. in Rohnert Park in Sonoma County. Around 11 a.m. a woman reported that someone fired a shot at her vehicle on southbound Highway 101 near Windsor, according to NBC Bay Area. She was not hit. The suspect in this pursuit matches the description, including the license plate, that the woman shared with police.Officers deployed spike strips throughout the pursuit, and the driver went over one on Interstate 80 just west of Cordelia Junction, according to NBC Bay Area.CHP officers are trying to talk the suspect out of the vehicle.See KCRA 3’s traffic map.
