The hoax is the second in six days for the school district.

CERES, Calif. — Another threat against a Ceres school was determined to be a hoax Monday.

The Ceres Unified School District says it was notified by police of a possible gun threat against Cesar Chavez Junior High School.

Ceres Police Department said they got a call from a unknown male saying was planning on committing a mass shooting at the school just before 12 p.m.

The school was put on lockdown, along with a precautionary lockdown for nearby La Rosa Elementary School.

Police weren’t able to find evidence of a credible threat after searching the campus, according to the school district. All students and staff are safe.

“Any threat against a school community is treated with the utmost seriousness. Additional social-emotional supports are available at Cesar Chavez Junior High and La Rosa Elementary School,” school officials said in a news release.

Anyone with information can call Detective Salinas at (209) 538-5729.

On April 23, police said a shooting threat against Mae Hensley Junior High School was determined to be a hoax.
