WE BEGIN WITH A FIRE BURNING THROUGH A HOME IN ANTELOPE, AND THE FLAMES SPREAD TO THE HOME NEXT DOOR. NOW THE FIRE IS BEING INVESTIGATED AS ARSON. THANKS FOR JOINING US AT FOUR. I’M TY STEELE, I’M LISA GONZALEZ. THAT FIRE STARTED JUST BEFORE 1030 THIS MORNING IN A NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR WALERGA AND P.F.E. ROADS. LET’S GO STRAIGHT TO LIVECOPTER3 FOR THIS EXCLUSIVE AERIAL VIEW OVER THE HOME. AND YOU CAN SEE HOW MUCH OF IT WAS BURNED AND DESTROYED THERE. JUST A PILE OF ASHES ON A PART OF THE HOUSE, LOOKS LIKE RIGHT WHERE THE GARAGE IS LOCATED. AND YOU CAN SEE THEY DID STOP THE FIRE FROM SPREADING TO ANY OTHER HOUSES. KCRA 3’S ORKO MANNA IS LIVE ON THE GROUND. AND SO ORKO, THROUGH YOUR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING TODAY, YOU’VE BEEN ABLE TO LEARN THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAS BEEN CALLED TO THIS NEIGHBORHOOD TWICE IN CONNECTION WITH THIS FIRE, RIGHT? YEAH. LISA, IT’S BEEN A VERY CHAOTIC DAY IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. JUST ABOUT AN HOUR AGO, THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE CONFIRMS WITH ME THAT THEY WERE CALLED OUT HERE, AND WE SAW THOSE VEHICLES OUT HERE. THEY’VE SINCE LEFT, BUT THEY WERE JUST DOWN THE STREET WHEN THEY SAY THAT SOMEONE HAD CUT SOMEONE WITH A KNIFE AND THAT PERSON THAT WAS CUT WAS A SQUATTER, I’M TOLD BY THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE THAT WAS STAYING INSIDE THE HOME THAT WAS BURNED IN THE FIRE. YOU CAN SEE THAT HOME HERE BEHIND ME IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD IN ANTELOPE. YOU CAN SEE JUST ALL THE DAMAGE AND DEBRIS FROM THE FIRE. THE GARAGE ESSENTIALLY COLLAPSED IN THE FLAMES AND THE FIRST TIME THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE WAS CALLED HERE WAS BECAUSE NEIGHBORS WERE FIGHTING IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE WHILE IT WAS BURNING. NOW, THIS IS VIDEO OF THE FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE HOME GIVEN TO US BY SACRAMENTO METRO FIRE. AGAIN, YOU CAN SEE THOSE FLAMES COMING OUT OF THAT HOME. OFFICIALS SAY THE FIRE STARTED JUST BEFORE 1030 TODAY WHEN FIREFIGHTERS GOT HERE, THEY SAW TWO PEOPLE FIGHTING IN FRONT OF THE BURNING HOME. ONE WAS SOMEONE WHO WAS INSIDE THE BURNING HOME AND THE OTHER WAS A NEIGHBOR. SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES WERE CALLED OUT TO CALM THEM DOWN. IT’S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE FIRE, A FIRE OFFICIALS TELL US THAT THE FIRE BEGAN AFTER A EXCUSE ME, THE FIGHT BEGAN AFTER THE FIRE STARTED AND IT IS NOW BEING INVESTIGATED AS ARSON. NEIGHBORS TELL US THEY’VE HAD ISSUES WITH THE HOME WHERE THE FIRE STARTED FOR A COUPLE YEARS NOW, SAYING THEY’VE NOTICED A REVOLVING DOOR OF PEOPLE COMING IN AND OUT. THEY’RE NOT SURPRISED THE FIRE HAPPENED HERE. TRASH COMING OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE GARAGE, ALL AROUND THE SIDE. JUST GARBAGE, CHEMICALS AND EVERYTHING. SO, I MEAN, IT WAS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. SO THERE’S A LOT OF MATERIAL INSIDE PERSONAL PROPERTY THAT CREATED FUEL TO TO CREATE REALLY AN INTENSE BLAZE. SO MUCH SO THAT IT CAUGHT THE NEIGHBOR’S HOUSE ON FIRE. MAJOR DAMAGE TO BOTH. NEITHER ONE OF THESE HOMES ARE GOING TO BE LIVABLE. AND BACK OUT HERE LIVE. THIS IS THE OTHER HOME THAT WAS DAMAGED IN THE FIRE. THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE SIDE WHERE IT WAS BURNED. AND FIRE OFFICIALS TELL US THAT THE REASON THAT THIS SECOND HOME IS UNLIVABLE IS NOT NECESSARILY BECAUSE OF THE ACTUAL DAMAGE THE FIRE CAUSED, BUT THE ELECTRICAL PANEL WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE HOME AND IT MELTED IN THAT FIRE. SO AGAIN, THE RESIDENTS OF THAT HOME AS WELL AS THE HOME THAT WAS ORIGINALLY BURNED WHERE THE FIRE STARTED IN THE GARAGE, ALL OF THOSE RESIDENTS ARE DISPLACED TONIGHT REPORTING LIVE IN ANTELOPE, ORKO MANNA KCRA THREE NEWS. THAT’S TOO BAD FOR THAT ELECTRICAL PANEL, BUT AT LEAST IT DIDN’T SPREAD TO THE OTHER HOUSES COMPLETELY. SO, ORKO, HAS ANYONE BEEN ARRESTED FOR THE FIRE OR THE OTHER ALTERCATIONS THAT HAPPENED RELATED TO THIS FIRE? YEAH, I REACHED OUT TO THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THEY’VE CONFIRMED WITH ME THAT THE PERSON THAT WAS HOLDING THE KNIFE AGAINST THE SQUATTER THAT WAS HERE, THAT SQUATTER, WAS CUT, THAT PERSON WITH THE KNIFE WAS ARRESTED. I’M TOLD BY THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT THAT THAT PERSON DOES NOT LIVE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. BUT AGAIN, THEY WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AS FAR AS FAR AS THE FIRE INVESTIGATION GOES, FIRE OFFICIALS ARE STILL LOOKING INTO THAT, AND WE’LL BE SURE TO UPDATE YOU AS SOON AS WE LEARN MORE. OKAY. ORKO MANNA
