Fire breaks out on Kimbell Island near Antioch

ANTIOCH, Calif. – A fire broke out on Kimball Island, near Antioch, on Friday. 

Smoke was seen for several miles from the marshland.

Contra Costa Fire Protection District said the agency received multiple calls regarding the fire on the island. 

The fire district said it was monitoring the fire and notifying the appropriate fire agency as the incident was outside its district.
