Fatal vehicle collision closes down stretch of major East Bay roadway

SAN PABLO — Police were investigating a fatal vehicle collision early Thursday on a major avenue.Few details were available immediately, but San Pablo police spokesperson Peggy Chou confirmed that a fatal crash had closed San Pablo Avenue in the southbound direction at 23rd Street. The road remained closed past 7:30 a.m. and was impacting commute traffic.
The crash happened about 2:20 a.m., according to Chou.
No other information was available immediately.
