Fatal crash reported on Palomares Road in Castro Valley

CASTRO VALLEY – At least one person was killed in a traffic collision Monday afternoon in Castro Valley, authorities said.

The fatal crash happened around 4:20 p.m. at 32320 Palomares Road, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs.

CHP Officer Jennifer Pabst confirmed an investigation was underway into a traffic fatality.

The dispatch logs indicated a gray Honda hit a power pole along the two-lane road, which runs between Palo Verde Road to the north and Niles Canyon Road to the south.

Additional details about the collision were not immediately available Monday night.
