DUBLIN — A 90-year-old man was found dead in his car in a creek on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

Around 2 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received a call about a Ford F-150 in a creek on Eden Canyon Road, north of Hollis Canyon Road, Officer Tyler Hahn said. The man in the vehicle had been missed for 1.5 weeks, the neighbors who found him told police. He was not in the missing persons system.

Hahn said the man mainly had contact with his neighbors across the street. When the neighbors hadn’t heard from him, they searched the area, eventually finding his truck in the creek.

Tire track marks indicated that the man was leaving his neighbor’s home when the truck went down the embankment and overturned onto its right side in the creek. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and his head appeared to hit the windshield, Hahn said. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
