THE PLACER COUNTY MOSQUITO AND VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT SHOWCASED HOW THEY’RE USING DRONES TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF MOSQUITOES. OFFICIALS SAY THE DRONES RELEASE A SPECIAL BACTERIA PRODUCT THAT GOES INTO THE WATER. MOSQUITOES EAT THAT PRODUCT AND DIE. THE BACTERIA ONLY IMPACTS FLIES AND NOT OTHER CREATURES, OFFICIALS SAY THE DRONES HELP ACCESS AREAS THAT ARE HARD FOR TEAMS TO REACH. The Placer Mosquito and Vector Control district showcased how they use drones to prevent the spread of mosquitoes. The demonstrations are part of California Mosquito Awareness Week.
