Driver dies after plunging down hillside of Highway 50, El Dorado County Fire officials say

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. — A driver who plunged 300 feet down a hillside north of Highway 50 and Outer Limits Road Tuesday was pronounced dead by El Dorado County Fire medics.

Fire officials said the wife of the driver was notified of the crash from the Tesla’s alert system, but crews initially had a hard time finding the vehicle.

The driver died from blunt for trauma as a result of the crash and ejection from the vehicle.

A total of 14 additional personnel were added to the labor-intensive crash scene.
