Dr. Cyril Wecht, a former Allegheny County medical examiner and renowned forensic pathologist known for his work on cases such as the JFK assassination and JonBenet Ramsey, died Monday. He was 93.Video above: Remembering Cyril WechtThe Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts announced Wecht’s death Monday morning.Wecht was born in Pittsburgh in 1931 and raised in Bobtown, McKees Rocks and the Lower Hill District. The Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts announced Wecht’s death Monday morning.
Wecht was born in Pittsburgh in 1931 and raised in Bobtown, McKees Rocks and the Lower Hill District. He earned medical and law degrees at the University of Pittsburgh and also served in the U.S. Air Force before beginning his career in forensic pathology.
