Cat revived from Orangevale house fire, 7 residents escape unharmed

ORANGEVALE, Calif. — A cat was rescued and seven people were uninjured in an Orangevale house fire Saturday evening, according to the Sacramento Metro Fire Department. 

The fire started around 5 p.m. in the 8100 block of Ruthwood Way in Orangevale, fire officials say. 

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire officials say the fire was in a second story bedroom. A car was rescued and revived at the scene. 

No other injuries were reported in the fire and the home suffered major damage. No other information is available at this time.

Crews arrived to a well established 2nd story bedroom fire in Orangevale. Crews were able to knock the fire down and ensure all 7 occupants made it out safely. 1 cat was rescued and resuscitated.
