Bicyclist dies after being hit by vehicle in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle in Sacramento on Monday.

The Sacramento Police Department said officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to reports of a crash at Fruitridge Road and 88th Street. It’s unclear how the crash happened.

A bicyclist died at the scene. The person’s identity hasn’t been released.

The driver remained in the area and driving under the influence isn’t believed to be a factor in the crash, according to police. The crash is under investigation.
