A Bay Area family has found their missing teen who they had feared was in danger.

Janira Fuentes told KTVU that her daughter went missing on March 6, but was found safe on March 10.

“You know, there’s a lot of bad people out there,” Fuentes said.

The worried mother told KTVU that her 16-year-old went missing while the family was in the process of moving from San Francisco to Richmond.

Fuentes said she was grateful that her daughter was not harmed.

On March 9, KTVU reported that Feuntes was concerned about her daughter communicating with what she believed to be a man on social media and was concerned that she may have been held against her will.

Fuentes has since confirmed that her daughter did not encounter the man.

The teen had left home without any of her belongings, including her cell phone, which caused her parents to file a missing person’s report with Richmond police, where she went missing.
