LOS ANGELES – A possible shooting suspect is in handcuffs – but not before leading an hours-long standoff at a South Los Angeles apartment complex.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call near the intersection of Florence Avenue and Compton Avenue on Monday afternoon. An apartment complex in the area was forced to evacuate as LASD looked for the suspect.

Officials did not specify which shooting the suspect is linked to. The suspect was eventually placed in deputy custody later in the evening.

No injuries were announced by LASD in connection to the hours-long standoff. The evacuation has since been lifted at the nearby apartment building.
