3-year-old present during Ceres armed robbery, police say

Two men, including one armed with a handgun, entered Stanislaus Towing Services demanding money on Tuesday morning, Ceres police said.Officials received reports of an armed robbery at the business located at 1307 Angie Avenue at approximately 8:45 a.m. According to Ceres police, an adult female employee and her 3-year-old child were in the office at the time of the robbery. The woman’s hands were tied up with tape after being forced to open the safe, officials said. The two men left the business after discovering an empty safe.Police confirmed that the woman and the child were not harmed during the robbery.While the case is in the initial stages of investigation, police said the department has not had any issues with the area in general.Detectives said it was unclear if the business was randomly selected or specifically targeted. Officials are asking anyone with information on the robbery to contact Detective Berlier at (209) 538-5616.
