22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of elderly woman with Alzheimer’s

A 22-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman in her home has been arrested, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

Police said that the man, identified as Walker Gabriel Munoz, knocked on the door of the woman’s home on the 12600 block of Pierce Street around 6:50 p.m. on April 29. The woman, 81 and suffering from Alzheimer’s, let him in her home.

Once inside, Munoz initiated physical contact and “attempted to assault the victim sexually,” police said. Parts of the encounter were captured on a home security camera.

The woman was later transported to a local hospital where a sexual assault exam was conducted, police said.

Munoz was arrested by officers with the LAPD’s Foothill Division on Friday on suspicion of kidnapping with intent to commit rape. He’s being held at Metropolitan Detention Center on $2,125,000 bail.
