2 children, 1 woman hospitalized as central Fresno family party ends in gunfire

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Two children and a woman were sent to the hospital as a family party in central Fresno ended in gunfire.

Police received a shotspotter notification in the area of Hedges and Cedar Avenues at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

As officers responded to the scene, they learned a person was shot following a large fight at the location.

When they arrived, they found three gunshot victims. One was a 5-year-old boy shot in his lower body and a 16-year-old boy shot in the upper body. The other was a woman who was shot in her arm.

All three were taken to the hospital and are stable.

Police have not made any arrests but do have information on a suspect vehicle and potential suspects.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
