The Yolo County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a 16-year-old who died after being stabbed in West Sacramento on Saturday.Kirill Trush was found by officers around 5:15 p.m. that evening below the Tower bridge with multiple stab wounds, according to West Sacramento police.Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but Trush died at the scene, police said.According to a letter from the Center Joint Unified School District, the student who died attended Center High School in Antelope. “This loss is particularly poignant as the student has been with our district for many years, growing alongside peers and forming lasting bonds with teachers and staff throughout their educational journey. Our community is deeply affected, and our thoughts are with the family, friends, and all who knew the student,” the district said. According to the release, the student had been with the district since kindergarten. “As soon as we learned of the student’s passing, we mobilized and made our counselors, with support from chaplains, available to our students and staff. Counselors have been available all week and will continue to support our school community as long as needed,” the school’s superintendent Scott Loehr added.West Sacramento police said on Saturday they are investigating the stabbing and are considering it a homicide.
