1 dead, 1 injured after Stockton shooting. Police say suspect has been detained

STOCKTON, Calif. — One man is dead, and another is injured after a shooting Sunday morning in Stockton.

Just after 9:30 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of El Camino Avenue to a report of a shooting, according to Stockton Police Department spokesman Officer David Scott.

Upon arrival, officers located two adult male victims who had been shot, Scott said. Medical response transported both victims, a 19-year-old man and a 70-year-old man, to the hospital. The 19-year-old man was later pronounced dead, Scott said.

An adult male suspect was detained at the scene, police said. Homicide detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident, according to law enforcement.
