5th Annual Fix’n Fidos Golf Tournament: J&Y Law Steps Up to Support Pet Welfare

On Sunday at Monarch Beach Golf Links, J&Y Law was proud to champion an incredible cause at the 5th Annual Fix’n Fidos Golf Tournament. We couldn’t be more thrilled with how the day turned out! 

It was a spectacular morning on the greens, meaningful conversations, lots of laughter, and most importantly, real support for helping pets in need across Southern California. The real question is: did our firm’s representatives – Senior Trial Attorney Alex Boris and Marketing Strategist Dan Moyer – take up the grand prize? 

What Is Fix’n Fidos & Why We Support It

Fix’n Fidos is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by KTLA’s Kacey Montoya. Its mission is straightforward but powerful: reduce pet overpopulation by funding spay and neuter surgeries and helping owners who face unavoidable veterinary costs. Over the years, they’ve become an essential safety net for families struggling to care for animals they love.  

J&Y Law joined the tournament as not just participants, but as sponsors. We handed out swag bags, set up a photo booth experience, and provided financial backing for the day. 

Besides advocating for our clients legally, we want to give back to our communities and local causes that matter. 

“I have three cats and a dog at home,” admits Moyer.  “They’re part of our family, so I’m always eager to support causes that help our furry friends. Spending a beautiful day on the links talking to people who care about animals as much as I do has made this event extra special.” 

What the Day Was Like on the Course

From start to finish, the tournament delivered: 

• Breathtaking ocean views, pristine fairways, and perfect SoCal weather 

• A neighborly atmosphere with community members, local business owners, and animal lovers alike 

• Friendly competition, plenty of camaraderie, and new connections made 

• Fundraising efforts that allowed guests to contribute through raffles, sponsorships, and onsite donations 

“I don’t get out on the course as often as I’d like, so spending the day golfing for a cause like this was already special,” says Boris. “But what really hit me was realizing that many of our clients can’t golf at all anymore because of their injuries. For us, just having the privilege to walk the course, swing a club, and enjoy the sun is something we can’t take for granted. Thank you to Kacey and her team for putting this all together. It was an unforgettable day.” 

But Did J&Y Law Win?

Yes and no. No, we didn’t walk away with the golf tournament grand prize. But yes, we walked away as winners because we got to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and support a cause that truly matters. The real prize was the satisfaction, inspiration, and purpose that came with being part of something bigger than ourselves.

J&Y Law is proud to stand alongside an organization that believes every pet deserves care, compassion, and a safe home. Because justice starts when we support each other in all walks of life.

At the end of the day, the Fix’n Fidos Golf Tournament wasn’t about everyone’s scorecard – it was supporting pets! We left Monarch Beach with gratitude in our hearts, new connections in our hands, and renewed inspiration to keep giving back wherever we can.
