Aiden Marroquin and Hugo Calderon Killed In Palmdale Crash
PALMDALE, CA – Aiden Marroquin and Hugo Calderon were tragically killed late Saturday night when two vehicles collided at a Palmdale intersection, leaving four other people hospitalized and the community with unanswered questions about what caused the crash.
The collision happened at the intersection of 10th Street West and Avenue N in Palmdale at about 10:53 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the LASD, a black Lexus LS400 was traveling south on 10th Street West and a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was traveling east on Avenue N, both at unknown speeds. Both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time and struck each other. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Palmdale Intersection Crash Victims Identified
The Los Angeles County medical examiner identified the victims the following Monday. One was Aiden Marroquin, 17 years old, who sustained multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries. The second victim was Hugo Calderon, 21, who also sustained multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries. The medical examiner’s office did not immediately release information on which victim was driving which vehicle.
Four other people were transported from the scene to hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available. Whether those individuals were passengers in either vehicle or bystanders was not specified in official statements.
The investigation remains active. The Antelope Valley Press, citing the LASD, reported the street at the location of the collision carries the formal name R. Lee Ermey Avenue at Avenue N. No traffic signal information, posted speed limits, or visibility conditions at the time of the crash were included in the statements released by authorities.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not announced any arrests or issued any determination of fault. Speed and right-of-way are among the most common contributing factors in intersection collisions of this kind, but investigators had not publicly attributed the crash to either at the time of this report.
Intersection crashes carry significant legal consequences for surviving parties and the families of those killed. Under California law, drivers are required to yield appropriately when entering or crossing an intersection, and liability in a two-vehicle collision typically turns on which driver had the right of way and whether either was traveling at an unsafe speed. The fact that speeds for both vehicles were listed as unknown suggests investigators had not yet completed their reconstruction analysis.
Wrongful death and personal injury claims arising from intersection accidents in Los Angeles County often hinge on data recovered from vehicle event recorders, witness accounts, and traffic engineering assessments of intersection design and signage. In some cases, liability may extend beyond individual drivers — to vehicle manufacturers, municipalities responsible for road design, or other parties — depending on what the investigation reveals.
