[02-25-2026] Los Angeles County – Four Injured in Downtown Los Angeles Hit-and-Run: Dashcam Captures the Moment
Downtown Los Angeles, California — Four people were injured Tuesday night after a hit-and-run driver crashed into multiple parked vehicles near the intersection of 7th Street and South Hope Street in DTLA.
The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. outside the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles, according to dashcam footage captured by a nearby Tesla. The video shows a vehicle traveling southbound on Hope Street suddenly making a sharp left turn, crossing into oncoming traffic, and slamming into a row of parked cars.
Authorities reported that three individuals who were inside one of the parked vehicles at the time of the crash sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.
A female passenger inside the suspect’s vehicle was also injured in the crash and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses at the scene stated that the driver fled on foot immediately following the collision but later returned. Police subsequently arrested the suspect. Officials have not yet confirmed what may have caused the crash, and it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
The investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.

Can dashcam footage be used as evidence in a hit-and-run accident?
Yes — dashcam footage can be used as valuable evidence in a hit-and-run accident. In many cases, video recordings captured at the time of the crash may help show how the collision occurred, identify the vehicle involved, and even capture the license plate or driver’s actions immediately before or after the impact.
This type of footage can support your version of events when filing an insurance claim or pursuing legal action. A qualified Los Angeles car accident lawyer can review dashcam video along with other available evidence — such as witness statements, police reports, and traffic camera recordings — to help establish liability and strengthen your personal injury claim.
Additionally, dashcam recordings may assist a hit and run accident attorney in identifying the at-fault driver, even if they initially fled the scene. This can be especially important in cases where law enforcement investigations are ongoing or when insurance companies question fault.
