[02-20-2026] Los Angeles County – Pedestrian Hospitalized After Midnight Hit-and-Run in Van Nuys

Van Nuys, California — Authorities are searching for a driver who fled the scene after striking a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning near the intersection of Sherman Way and Hazeltine Avenue. 

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around midnight as the victim was reportedly walking along lanes of traffic in the area. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of a person down in the roadway. 

The pedestrian sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. As of now, officials have not released any updates regarding the victim’s condition. 

It remains unclear whether the injured individual was experiencing homelessness at the time of the incident. No identifying information about the victim has been made public.
