Can families seek justice after a hit-and-run death?
Yes — families can often seek justice after a fatal hit-and-run, even when the driver initially escapes.
A wrongful death claim may allow surviving relatives to pursue financial compensation and accountability through civil court, while law enforcement continues investigating the criminal case. Working with a local Sacramento car accident lawyer can help families understand their legal options, preserve evidence, and deal with insurers during this difficult time.
In many cases, a Hit And Run Accident Attorney can help identify additional sources of recovery, such as uninsured motorist coverage, even if the driver is never found. Families may also file a wrongful death lawsuit to seek damages for funeral costs, lost financial support, and the emotional impact of the loss, with the guidance of an experienced Sacramento wrongful death lawyer.
