RESEDA, CA – Six people were evaluated after a Los Angeles Metro bus and two other vehicles collided Friday morning on Sherman Way in Reseda, authorities said. The three-vehicle collision was reported shortly after 9:45 a.m. near Lindley Avenue.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the 18300 block of Sherman Way after receiving a report that two cars had collided with the bus. At least one person was taken to a hospital during the emergency response. Officials did not immediately release that patient’s condition.

The first public accounts did not identify any of the six people who were evaluated or specify how many were traveling on the bus. Authorities also did not say whether the hospitalized patient was a bus passenger, a bus operator or an occupant of one of the other vehicles.

Six People in Reseda Metro Bus Crash Assessed

Firefighters and paramedics assessed the people involved while police worked at the collision site. The difference between the number evaluated and the number taken to a hospital reflected the preliminary nature of the response: six people received medical attention at the scene, while one confirmed patient was transported for further care.

No death was reported in the initial information released Friday morning. Officials did not describe the nature of the injuries or say whether any other patient later sought hospital treatment. The agencies also did not identify the Metro route involved or disclose how many passengers were aboard when the vehicles collided.

The crash occurred along Sherman Way near Lindley Avenue, and the Fire Department placed the response in the 18300 block. Authorities did not immediately state whether the collision blocked the intersection, affected both directions of Sherman Way or required the bus to be removed from service. No continuing closure was announced in the early reports.

Reseda Bus Accident Still Being Investigated

The sequence leading to the impact remained unclear. The first agency information established that two cars and a Metro bus were involved, but it did not state which vehicle made the initial contact or describe the directions in which the drivers had been traveling.

Police had not announced a preliminary finding about speed, impairment, traffic signals or right of way. They also had not reported an arrest or citation. The absence of those details meant that responsibility for the collision had not been determined in the first hours after the crash.

Metro had not released the bus operator’s name or a separate account of the collision by late Friday morning. The early reports likewise did not identify the drivers of the two cars or indicate whether investigators had completed interviews with the people involved.

The Los Angeles Police Department continued investigating the cause after emergency crews treated the injured people and transported one patient. Authorities said additional information would be released as the investigation developed, including any change in the number or condition of those hurt.
