[02-09-2026] San Diego County – One Killed in Rancho Santa Fe Crash
San Diego, California – A deadly traffic collision in Rancho Santa Fe led to a temporary shutdown of Del Dios Highway on Sunday night, according to officials.
Authorities reported the incident shortly after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Del Dios Highway and Luna De Miel. Responding officers located a vehicle that had gone down an embankment as a result of the crash.
Emergency crews called the Medical Examiner’s office to the scene a little after 10 p.m. Investigators have not yet released information about the victim or the circumstances that caused the collision.
A SigAlert was issued around 10:11 p.m., closing Del Dios Highway in both directions. Traffic restrictions were lifted and the roadway reopened at approximately 11:51 p.m.
