Los Angeles, California – A burning vehicle crash involving a Tesla sent three individuals to the hospital early Monday in Los Angeles, according to police.
Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department said the incident occurred at about 7:46 a.m. near the intersection of Nordhoff Street and Bahama Street in the Winnetka neighborhood. Investigators report that the Tesla veered off course and slammed into a tree, which triggered a fire.
Emergency crews arrived quickly and put out the flames shortly after reaching the scene. Video from overhead news coverage showed the badly burned car with firefighters working around the wreckage.
Paramedics transported three injured people to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet released information about how serious the injuries are, and it remains under investigation whether all of the injured were inside the car when the crash happened.
Police said further details have not yet been released.

Is a Tesla Accident Different from a Regular Car Crash?
A Tesla accident is handled much like a regular car crash in many legal respects, but there can be important differences in how liability is investigated and proven. Like any collision, fault is based on negligence — such as speeding, distraction, or unsafe driving.
However, Tesla crashes may also involve added factors like driver-assist features (Autopilot or Full Self-Driving), vehicle software data, battery fire risk, and manufacturer design issues. That means evidence can include onboard logs, sensor data, and software status at the time of the impact, in addition to standard police reports and witness statements. In some cases, responsibility may extend beyond the driver to a vehicle or component manufacturer.
Because of these technical and product-related angles, victims often benefit from speaking with a Los Angeles car accident lawyer and a personal injury attorney Los Angeles who understand how to secure vehicle data and evaluate potential product liability claims alongside standard injury damages such as medical costs, lost income, and pain and suffering.
