Eligible customers who used the photo service between April 1, 2018, through Aug. 25, 2023, could receive a voucher of up to $25 as part of a settlement.

Shutterfly is a popular photo printing and image-sharing service based in Redwood City, California. Many people use the company’s website to create photo books, cards, gifts and home decor.

In April 2022, a Shutterfly customer filed a class action lawsuit alleging Shutterfly violated California law by advertising false original prices to offer “phantom discounts” to customers who shop on Shutterfly.com. Shutterfly has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to a settlement in the case.

Now people online are wondering if vouchers they recently received via email claiming to be from the Shutterfly class action settlement are legitimate.

Eligible customers who used the photo service between April 1, 2018, through Aug. 25, 2023, began receiving vouchers of up to $25 as part of the settlement via email in June 2024.

People who filed a valid claim on the settlement website by Feb. 5, 2024, will receive a voucher for up to $25 off their next purchase on Shutterfly.com.

Those who did not file a claim and did not object or exclude themselves from the settlement will automatically receive a $5 voucher, the settlement website says.
