At 4:05 pm Sunday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of house fire on Stratford Drive in the City of Oakley.

While responding, crews observed a large column of smoke and upon arrival, observed smoke and flames from the home located in the 5100 block of Stratford Drive off Coventry. Crews make quick access to the second story and knocked down the fire without incident.

Two youths were home at the time with their dog and safely made it out of the home prior to firefighter arrival. CONFIRE also was able to use T92 on a fire after it had a “push in” ceremony last Tuesday.

No other information on the cause of the house fire was made available at the scene while the cause is under investigation.

The Oakley Police Department also responded to provide traffic control and confirmed the youths were out of the home when they arrived and placed the dog in the backyard of a neighbors home.
