Sheriff issues warning after 2nd mountain lion spotted in San Joaquin County in two days

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office has issued another warning after a mountain lion was spotted just two days after a different sighting.Officials said the second mountain lion sighting was in an orchard off of Peltier Road in Lodi.The first mountain lion was spotted on East Harvest Road in Acampo on Saturday. The sheriff’s office said deputies are searching the area where the mountain lion was spotted, hoping to trap the animal. They also searched Acampo after the first sighting but did not find the animal in that instance.”We want to emphasize again that we are aware that mountain lions are inherently dangerous and ask that you please remain vigilant and keep your pets indoors,” the sheriff’s office said in a post on Facebook.Anyone who sees a mountain lion within the county is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 209-468-4400 and select Option 1.
