Merced County Sheriff’s Deputies are attempting to rescue a kayaker from the Merced River. It’s the second rescue from the river this week.

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — The Merced County Sheriff’s Office says they are working to save a kayaker who is stranded in the middle of the river near Snelling.

This comes after another rescue in the middle of the river just three days ago. Deputies rescued two people who were hanging onto a tiny tree.

The Sheriff’s Office Water Rescue and Recovery Team is also continuing to search for a 17-year-old who was swept away in the river last weekend.
